When we first moved to the states from Nigeria, we sorely missed the comforting flavors of home – fiery jollof rice spiced just right, rich egusi stews filled with leafy greens, crunchy puffs of plantain frying in the kitchen. Though we could find some semblance of West African food in restaurants, nothing truly hit the nostalgic flavor notes we craved.
That sparked an idea. What if we could share real-deal homecooked African dishes right here in our new hometown? Meals prepared with patience and love, using time-honored techniques and top ingredients sourced from fellow immigrant-owned markets. Food that warms bellies and connects people, no matter where you’re from.
